Rubha na h-Èist is a headland composed primarily of basaltic rock, formed during the Paleogene period through volcanic activity associated with the North Atlantic Igneous Province. It is notable for its resistant columnar jointing, a result of ancient lava flows cooling and contracting, and for its role in shaping the rugged coastal landscape of the Scottish Highlands.
