Rubha Chùil-tairbh is a basaltic sea cliff or headland formed during the Paleogene period, approximately 60 to 55 million years ago, as part of the North Atlantic Igneous Province. It is notable for its association with the geological activity linked to the opening of the North Atlantic Ocean and the formation of the Scottish Highlands' volcanic and intrusive rock formations.
