Rubh' a' Chorrain is a sea cliff or coastal rock feature located in the Outer Hebrides, likely composed of Lewisian gneiss, one of the oldest rock formations in Scotland, dating back over 2,700 million years. These metamorphic rocks formed deep within the Earth's crust through intense heat and pressure, and were later exposed by erosion, making the area geologically significant as part of the ancient basement complex of the British Isles.
