What is recorded here

Round Mount rises six metres above the Leitrim River, a steep-sided motte buried in briars at the northern edge of Wicklow town. It probably guarded the medieval borough, watching the water and the road below. Men may have climbed its hidden steps to look for ships or trouble, while the mountain kept their names and vanished.

Situated on high ground overlooking the Leitrim River at the N end of Wicklow town. A steep-sided mound (H 6-7m) which has been dug into at the SE and is very overgrown with trees and briars. It was probably part of the medieval borough of Wicklow (WI025-012----).
