Roulston Scar is a sea cliff composed mainly of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 340–320 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. The scar is notable for its exposure of geological strata and its role in illustrating the coastal erosion processes along the North Yorkshire coast.
