Likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, the cup and ring motifs on the rock outcrop in Straths are commonly associated with ritual or symbolic activity, possibly linked to territorial markers, ceremonial practices, or early forms of storytelling. Similar motifs found along coastal areas in Scotland suggest a connection to seafaring traditions or landscape veneration.
