Fifteen cup-and-circle markings are hidden beneath grass on a rocky ridge above Mulroy Bay. They look like water rings dropping into rock, perhaps drawn by someone watching rain strike a puddle. The ridge stands in good pasture, but the marks belong to patience. They wait for a curious hand to brush the grass aside and remember what the rain already knows.

A ridge of rock outcrop, 15m × 2m to 3m and up to 1m high above ground level. On this are inscribed a number of motifs. Some are quite distinct but others are not easily visible. Fifteen examples were noted on this occasion but as much of the rock is covered by a layer of grass it is probable that there are several others. Only cup-and-circle motifs (up to 5 concentric circles) were noted and none of the more complex designs described by Kinahan (1888, 427-37) were seen. The site is located in good pasture on a steep slope overlooking Mulroy Bay to the E. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. Likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, the rock art in Míobhaigh may represent symbolic or ritual markings, possibly linked to territorial identity, spiritual beliefs, or seasonal activities. Specific meanings remain unclear, but such motifs are often associated with early farming communities or ceremonial practices in the landscape.
