Rock art in Letter West, County Kerry, Ireland: a recently deturfed earthfast panel with possibly 20+ cupmarks and grooves on a flat level surface. Aoibheann Lambe identified and described it; Caimin O'Brien compiled the details from her account and photographs, uploaded 7 October 2022. Whoever cut those marks worked stone, not skin of the earth: cupmarks made by striking or rubbing, grooves made by chasing a line. The turf hid them until removed; the stone kept them all along.

Likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, this rock art may have held ritual or symbolic significance, possibly linked to water or land features in the landscape. Cupmarks and grooves are commonly associated with ceremonial or territorial marking in prehistoric contexts.
