O'Connell's Bridge, County Kerry

O'Connell's Bridge in Gleensk has one arch and a railway viaduct beside it. That's a hard neighbour to have: you get your parapets painted, stand back feeling handsome, and there's himself doing the same job on stilts.

Single-arch road bridge over river, built c. 1810, with rubble parapet walls rebuilt at each end, painted and rendered to sides of roadway, and having projecting string course at base of parapet. Set adjacent to railway viaduct.
