Rock art in Letter West carries two cup-and-ring marks on fractured sandstone above the Behy River valley. One mark remains sharp at the southwest edge while freeze-thaw has flaked the eastern stone into powdery layers. The small decorated surface faces northwest beside a mountain stream, presenting its ancient geometry to whoever climbs the heath.
In mountain heath (164m OD), on a NE-facing slope, c. 6.5m to NW of stream. Good views overlooking Behy River valley to NE. A slightly rough and fractured sandstone rock (dims. 1.35m N-S; 1.60m E-W; max. H 0.45m at NE) which is subtriangular in plan. It has an irregular decorated surface (dims. 0.70m N-S; 0.60m E-W) with a NW-facing aspect. The decorative elements consist of a complete cup-and-ring motif (overall dims. 15cm x 16cm; cupmark diam. 4cm; D 5mm; ring Wth 1-1.5cm; D 2-3mm) at the SW edge of the decorated surface. A cup-and-ring motif (overall diam. 12cm) defined by the remains of a picked ring and little definition within except a central cupmark (diam. 3cm; D 3mm), is located at E edge of rock face; very weathered and poorly preserved due to probable freeze-thaw action where stone is flaking off in layers along NE edge. Rock art (KE071-180----) is c. 0.6m to SW.
