On gentle SE facing slope, a slightly hogback-shaped, granite, earthfast boulder (1.8m NE-SW; 1.1m NW-SE; H on SE side 0.7m; H on NW side 0.2m) with 8 cups (diam. 4-8cm) along the high central ridge, and 2 or possibly 3 cups on the SE side. Likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, the cup marks on the Downshill boulder may have had ritual or symbolic significance, possibly linked to water, fertility, or celestial observations. Such rock art is often associated with ceremonial practices in prehistoric landscapes.
