Burren Rock Art preserves a large boulder marked with seven cup-shaped hollows arranged around a central one. That simple eight-point pattern still catches the eye because it makes the stone sound like a drum. Perhaps people struck it, watched it ring, and remembered the place through that music.

This rock art, featuring a rosette motif of seven cup-marks surrounding a central cup-mark, is likely Neolithic in origin, dating to between 4000 and 2500 BCE. Such motifs are commonly interpreted as symbolic or ritual in nature, possibly linked to celestial observation, seasonal cycles, or communal identity.
