Kinahan recorded cupmarks cut into natural rock on a hill south-west of Lough Salt in 1888, yet no one has found them since. That absence turns the claim into a ghost: either the marks vanished, the hill changed, or the description pointed somewhere else entirely. Whatever happened, a person stood beside that rock, chiselled small cups into stone and walked away. The hill keeps their marks while memory loses them.

Kinahan (1888, 436) refers to cupmarks cut on the natural rock surface on a hill to the SW of Lough Salt. These were not located on this occasion.
