What is recorded here

Described in 1944 (NMI Topographical Files) as consisting of transverse timbers 'similar to a railway sleeper' (dims. av. L 2.1m; Wth 0.3m; T 0.4m) resting on roundwood runners, overlying a gravel layer, and covered by turf. Pegs were driven through holes in each end of the timbers.
