Price (1945, 54). asserts that the 'stony pass' retained in the name 'Stony Pass Bridge' on the OS 6-inch map refers to a possibly prehistoric track which led across the mountains towards Naas. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
