What is recorded here

The site (L 17.37m min.; Wth 1.4m; D 0.05m) is orientated NNW-SSE and consists of densely packed, longitudinal mixed brushwood and roundwoods, one to two pieces in depth. There is some variation along the length of the site (Wth 0.92-1.4m) and at the S extent it is denser and incorporates occasional twigs. Woodworking is evidenced by a single, degraded chisel point. The site lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with fibrous roots and unidentified reeds. Compiled by: Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College Dublin). Date of upload: 23 May 2011
