What is recorded here

The site (L 23.73m; Wth 1.2m; D 0.1m) consists of a very dispersed deposit of brushwood, evident at two sightings on the field surface and orientated E-W. At the most E sighting, the site survived as two pieces of heavy brushwood orientated N-S and a piece of light brushwood, orientated E-W. Woodworking was evident on some of this material. One of the pieces was identified as alder. The most W sighting was similar in form although this material was badly damaged. The material was in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with much ericaceous root and some Eriophorum. Compiled by: Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College Dublin).
