What is recorded here

The site (Wth 1.25m; D 0.28m) consists of compactly arranged pieces of brushwood orientated E-W. The pieces of brushwood (diam. 0.019-0.055m) have been placed between three roundwoods and two plank fragments to create a secure walking surface. One roundwood (diam. 0.18m), had been worked to a wedge point with a metal tool. The small portions of oak planks (Wth 0.09m; D 0.095m max.) were radially split. Of the remaining wood identified alder and oak were the predominant species with some willow twigs and alder root also present. The site is located within well-humified Sphagnum peat which contains equal amounts of ericaceous remains and Eriophorum. There was a stone recorded in the field immediately W of the site.
