Road, class 3 togher

What is recorded here

This togher, orientated ENE-WSW, consisted of a dense layer (Wth 2.4m; D 0.4m) of longitudinal oak roundwood, some of which was split and trimmed, and a number of outlying hazel pegs. The togher may have been exposed for some time as the condition of the timbers was poor. Compiled by: Mary Tunney based on data supplied by the former Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit, University College, Dublin. Date of upload: 26 August 2011
