What is recorded here

Circa 1m to the SW of a holy well (LF019-073----). Many small pieces of cloth have been tied to the branches of this thorn tree. A small number of stones have been built up at its base. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 5 June 2013
This thorn tree is associated with local traditions of healing and protection, common in Celtic and early Christian practices where such sites were believed to hold spiritual power. The tying of cloth and piling of stones reflects a long-standing custom of making offerings to seek favor or express gratitude.
