RFA Housatonic was a Royal Fleet Auxiliary steam tanker that was sunk by a German U-boat (U-559) on 30 October 1941 during World War II, approximately 350 miles west of Alexandria, Egypt. All 10 crew members were lost, and the wreck is historically significant as one of several Allied ships targeted in the Battle of the Atlantic, highlighting the vulnerability of supply lines during the war.
