What is recorded here

Ballycopeland Windmill stands restored in County Down, its eighteenth-century bones preserved under State Care. The structure survives uncertainty about its exact birth date, yet the stone remains clear enough to judge. It is the kind of place where forgotten labour becomes visible again, inviting people to imagine the hands that turned its gears before memory faded.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RESTORED WINDMILL: BALLYCOPELAND WINDMILL (c.f. IHR 2642 for more details). Recorded period: UNCERTAIN; C18TH. Recorded protection: State Care. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
