What is recorded here

Located on the W bank of the Pollagh River, 240m S of its confluence with the Glore and Gwestion Rivers. Samuel Lewis (1837, 135) recorded that ‘Here was a friary of conventual Franciscans which existed till the Reformation. There are some remains of the old church.’ An inquisition of 1608 found that it had property to the value of six shillings, suggesting that the friary was still in existence in the post-reformation period (Gwynne and Hadcock 1970, 279). The remains now consist of a ruined medieval church (MA071-169001-) enclosed within a graveyard (MA071-169002-). There are no other visible remains of the religious foundation.
