A National Museum file recording excavations on the site of St. Mary's abbey (DU018-048----) in 1971 refers to the finding of a 'wall associated with the abbey' on the west side of Liffey Street backing onto Jervis Street hospital (NMI 1971:1063). The exact location of this precinct wall is not known.

Cistercian monastic site, medieval period (12th–16th century). The remains reflect the religious and architectural history of Dublin's monastic foundations, linked to St. Mary's Abbey, a significant Augustinian and later Cistercian house.
