The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Augustinian Priory of St Stephen, found according to Gwynn and Hadcock (1988, 184) after 1163 at the instigation of St Laurence O'Toole. In ruins by 1432 when it was suppressed. Precise location unknown (Bradley 1989, 50).
