What is recorded here
Windmill in Dublin South City is a windmill in County Dublin, Ireland. Perhaps Rocque's map captured a wooden giant standing above Kilmainham in 1756, its sails drinking the Atlantic breath to grind grain for hungry neighbours. Maybe the miller listened for the rhythm of the canvas rather than the roar of the gears, reading the wind like a language. Imagine the shade of that structure falling across the city while people measured distance by the angle of its shadow.
Rocque's map (1756) shows a windmill in the Kilmainham area.
