What is recorded here

Gateway, extant 1924, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of drag edged rusticated limestone ashlar piers on plinths having shallow pyramidal capping supporting cast-iron double gates. Lane fronted at entrance to grounds of Westport House.
A gateway forming part of a neat self-contained group alongside an adjoining gate lodge (see 31211054) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement at the latter day principal entrance on to the grounds of the Westport House estate.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
