Freestanding tooled cut-limestone sarcophagus, installed 1914-5[?]; extant 1924, on mass-concrete stepped base. Set in landscaped grounds shared with Westport House.
A sarcophagus not only contributing positively to the group and setting values of the Westport House estate, but also surviving as an interesting relic of a formal garden created (1914-5) for George Ulick Browne (1856-1935), sixth Marquess of Sligo.
