Grave Yard

Grave Yard in Haroldstown, County Carlow, is a near-perfect square of about thirty-seven metres, bounded by a five-course granite wall and marked by an early cross-inscribed pillar beside ruined church foundations. The geometry suggests measurement and care before burial, while the raised ground records generations of loss and memory. It still belongs to the living, since identified burials continue into the twenty-first century beside the old castle and possible abbey traces.
