Weir is a 159m post-and-wattle fence curving down the foreshore on the north bank of the Shannon estuary beside Bush Island. It probably marked a robbed-out fishtrap, guiding silver into a narrow kill before humans took their share. The posts are gone now, but the fence line still breaks the water, a ghost rail dragging fish and memory toward the same hidden door.

Described by O’Sullivan (2001, 301) as a post medieval ‘post-and-wattle fence curving down foreshore to LWM, intersecting with shore fence of Bush Island 2A-2B. Oriented NNE-SSW, 159m long.
