What is recorded here

A parcel of land amounting to 1700 acres in the townlands of Ballingale, Ballycarney Tombrack and the unknown Bolliboy, Balimorogh, Castle Ormond and Gurraduff (Corah?) in the parish of Ferns was owned by a Thorentone, Richard Wale and Bartholomew Beirne in 1641 (Simington 1953, 265). In addition to the slate house (WX015-007----) at Ballycarney, two mills and two weirs on the River Slaney were on the property. This weir remains unlocated.
