Wall-mounted cast-iron "wall box" post box, extant 1905. Set in red brick header bond surround in part creeper- or ivy-covered boundary wall.

A "wall box" post box supplied by W.T. Allen and Company (fl. 1881-1955) of London representing an interesting example of mass-produced cast-iron work making a pleasing, if largely inconspicuous visual statement in New Street: meanwhile, only a feint outline survives of a "chiselled off" royal cipher (cf. 22828008; 22830089; 22830177; 22901820).
