What is recorded here

Gateway, c.1900, comprising pair of limestone ashlar piers with horizontal banding, inscribed lettering, cut-stone capping, decorative cast-iron double gates, and sections of cast-iron flanking railings on limestone ashlar plinth having pair of limestone ashlar terminating piers. Road fronted at entrance to grounds to Holmacre (House).
An attractive gateway of simple appearance incorporating piers attesting to high quality local stone masonry, together with early surviving wrought iron gates of some artistic design merit. The gateway forms an appealing feature in the streetscape of Newtown Road.
