What is recorded here

Two vast waterfalls still pour into empty holes where the towers fell, dragging breath and memory downward before spilling across New York. Michael Arad and Peter Walker buried the scars beneath a forest of white oak, forcing grief to surface as life rather than warning. The dead do not repeat; they return the world to itself.
This piece of steel was retrieved from the ruins of the World Trade Centre. Its serves as a memorial to the lives that were lost during the terrorist attacks on 11th September 2001.
