What is recorded here
Grave Yd. remains an active graveyard on the west side of Kilreekill village, holding headstones from the late 18th century beneath open Galway pastureland. People may have walked home through grass and memory rather than polished path, carrying bread, grief or quiet pride into soil that still receives the living. The church and older chapel stand nearby, giving the field a shape of continuity instead of abandonment.
In pastureland and roughly centrally located on the W side of Kilreekill village. This graveyard (c. 73m NW-SE; c. 59m NE-SW) is to the S side of the 'Old Chapel' (GA098-137001-) and 'St. Mary's Church (GA098-137003-). Headstones and grave-markers date from the late 18th century and it is still in use and has been extended to the W and N of the church.
