What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Vesnoy, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies an east-facing slope as a circular grass-covered area measuring thirty point six metres east-west and thirty point two metres north-south. An earthen bank defines the boundary without a visible fosse, while a modernised two-metre entrance opens at the southeast. Rath (RO023-175----) sits approximately one hundred and eighty metres to the north-northwest.

On an E-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 30.6m E-W; 30.2m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4-4.4m W-N to 5.4-5.6m E-S; int. H 0.5m at W to 0.9m at N; ext. H 0.6m at W to 1.2m at N) with no visible fosse. There is a modernised entrance (Wth 2m) at SE. Rath (RO023-175----) is c. 180m to the NNW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
