Finglas

Finglas is a northwestern Dublin suburb named for a clear streamlet that still flows beneath its streets, joining the River Tolka near Finglas Bridge. The settlement sits on a rise overlooking the Tolka valley, with water from Grange and Kildonan feeding the stream that gives the place its Irish name, Fionnghlas. Rain falls often under an oceanic climate, keeping the valley green and the boundary between Finglas and Glasnevin drawn in moving water.
