What is recorded here

De Courcy describes a former dwelling W of Fr. Matthew's Bridge which was associated with the Ussher family in the Sixteenth century (1996, 401-402). This backed onto the river Liffey. Perrot's survey of 1585 provide some dimensions (L 32.5m, wall T.1.25m, wall H 5.9m). This apparently occupied the site of a house mentioned in 1284 when it was granted to Robert de Notyngham and later restored in 1317 by John de Grauntsete(op cit 402). No visible trace

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
