Gateway, extant 1839, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of granite ashlar piers on chamfered plinths having cut-granite capping supporting wrought iron double gates. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Newtownbarry House.
A gateway forming part of a self-contained group alongside an adjacent gate lodge (see 15602073) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement at a secondary entrance on to the grounds of the Newtownbarry House estate.
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
