Cahercommaun is an ancient fortress in County Clare, Ireland. Fulacht fia in Tullycommon is a possible cooking pit nearby. The valley beneath the cliffs may have turned river water into soup for people who lived beside the rock.

Listed as Fulacht fia (possible) in the SMR (1992) but unlocated and not listed in the RMP (1996). The SMR listing is based on a Coffey reference (1985, 29) that in the valley beneath Cahercommaun (CL010-064003-) about 150m from the cliff base is “a small fulacht fiadh” close to a spring. A second was destroyed by road building nearby.” This is one of a number of fulachta fia mentioned but which were not located during an inspection of the area in 1999.
