Tullowbrin means Byrne's Tumulus, yet the mound has vanished from every map and image, leaving only the name to mark where Birn Buach, ancestor of Ossory, may have slept. The land still carries the shape of a story nobody can point to, as if the earth forgot its own monument but never stopped repeating the name.

Lyng (1952, 24-5) refers to a tumulus in Tullowbrin as follows, 'Travel from there by Ballysallagh (Baile Salach; Dirty Abode) 900ft., junction of Knockshanbally (Cnoc Sean Bhaile; old abode hill), Mount Nugent and Tullowbrin (Tulach Bhroin; Byrne's Tumulus). (Shearman says that the tumulus here is associated with the legendary Birn Buach ancestor of Ossory. Whoever called the adjoining hill Ossory Hill, a couple of centuries ago, apparently held this view also)'. The reference suggests that the mound is at the junction of three townlands, Knockshanbally, Mount Nugent Upper and Tullowbrin, however, there is no cartographic evidence of a monument at this location, nor is a monument visible on the OS Ortho or Bing imagery.
