Killala Railway Station

Detached two-bay (four-bay deep) double-height gable-fronted engine shed, commissioned 1893, on a rectangular plan. Decommissioned, 1934. Reroofed, ----. Now disused. Replacement pitched (gable-fronted) corrugated-iron roof with pressed iron ridge, moss-covered cut-limestone coping to gables, and uPVC rainwater goods on timber eaves boards on exposed timber rafters retaining octagonal hoppers and downpipes. Part creeper- or ivy-covered coursed rubble limestone walls with red brick flush quoins to corners. Pair of round-headed openings with red brick voussoirs framing mass-concrete infill. Roundel (gable) with red brick voussoir surround framing mass-concrete infill. Round-headed window openings with cut-limestone sills, and red brick block-and-start surrounds framing concrete block infill. Set in unkempt grounds shared with Killala Railway Station.
