What is recorded here
Entrance gateway, built c.1830, to Presentation Convent. Screen wall of pecked ashlar limestone having plinths, string course and English crenellations. Segmental carriage arch to centre flanked by elliptical-headed pedestrian openings, with wrought-iron gate to carriage arch and timber battened doors to pedestrian openings.
The entrance screen to the Presentation Convent has medieval-style detailing, in contrast to the convent itself which is classical in appearance. It exhibits good-quality stonework and has its original gates and doors.
