Booley hut

What is recorded here

Not marked on the 1837 or 1913 editions of the OS 6-inch map. In gently undulating rocky mountain pasture on slight SSW-facing slope. Views are excellent from E-S-W but obscured by higher ground elsewhere. Rectangular building (dims. 6m N-S; 4m E-W) defined only by wall footings (max H 0.4m; T 0.8m). There is no definite break to indicate the position of the doorway. This booley hut or small house appears to be a post-1700 AD monument. Compiled by: Patrick F.
