Fairy fort / ringfort in Tonyowen Upper is a fairy fort or ringfort in Tonyowen Upper, County Westmeath, Ireland. Situated on a natural hillock in undulating countryside, the monument was levelled during land reclamation works carried out in 1968. The 1837 Ordnance Survey Fair Plan depicted the site as an irregular pointed oval-shaped enclosure with a north-south long axis, while the 1911 edition of the Ordnance Survey 25-inch map showed it as an irregular shaped platform. A 1973 survey described the levelled site as an oval enclosure measuring 34.3 metres north-south by 22.3 metres east-west, noting a low fairly smooth stony scarp and no visible evidence of a fosse or entrance way.

Situated on a natural hillock in undulating countryside. Monument levelled during land reclamation works carried out in 1968. Depicted as an irregular shaped platform on the 1911 ed. OS 25-inch map. The Ordnance Survey Fair Plan of 1837 depicted the monument as an irregular pointed oval-shaped enclosure with its long axis N-S and annotated the earthwork as a ‘fort’. Described in 1968 as a 'small sub-triangular enclosure densely overgrown with bushes. Very slight collapsed stone wall slightly banked up to level interior where outside ground dips'. In 1973 the levelled site was surveyed and described as an 'oval enclosure (dims. 34.3m N-S x 22.3m E-W) most probably a ringfort is demolished. The interior dips slightly from the N-S axis towards the W. The almost level interior area has several slight humps and depressions which were probably made when demolishing the perimeter which is now represented by a low fairly smooth stony scarp. There is no definite evidence of a fosse. There is no visible evidence of an entrance way. No visible evidence of habitation' (ASI Field Report 20/03/1973).
