Ballinhalla Castle

Archaeological place

What is recorded here

Ballinhalla Castle vanished before romantic preservation began, leaving only a moated scar in South Tipperary that scrub swallowed and later men levelled. The 1840 map already called it a site, not a building, suggesting the castle had surrendered its stones to the countryside long before officials arrived. What remains is a flat field holding the shape of forgotten ambition, where water once guarded a house no longer proud enough to be remembered.
Ballinhalla Castle is recorded as a archaeological place in County Tipperary. Its open map record supplies this location and any linked names or public references.
