Three sandstone graveslabs were recovered at Tintern abbey without archaeological contexts. This fragment (L 0.77m; Wth 0.43m) is the base of a slab with chamfered edges that are all badly damaged. Three steps at the base of a cross are incised on it. (Manning 2010, 105, No. 3)

Medieval Christian graveslab, 12th–13th century. Its association with Tintern Abbey suggests it may be linked to the Cistercian monastic community, reflecting funerary practices of the period.
