Man-made underground passage in Tiduff

This site is not marked on the 1840-41 map. 'Cave' is marked on the later 1916 edition. A fieldbank cuts through this site in a NW-SE direction. On the N side of the fieldbank, a large stone covers the entrance to the Man-made underground passage system. According to local people, the chambers are high enough to stand erect. In the field NE of this Man-made underground passage system are many mounds which are supposedly connected to it. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’.
