What is recorded here

Five hollows and a buried chamber mark this Clare cairn, yet a modern quarry grates beside it and men still argue whether a cist ever appeared. Road workers broke the mound in 1874, Westropp denied the cist in 1917, and that contradiction remains inside the stones.

On a S-facing slope on a promontory at the extreme S end of the Termon plateau and within a field system (CL006-217----) extending all over the plateau. Described by Keegan (2016, 123) as a cairn (diam. c. 3m). Another cairn (CL006-287---) lies c. 65m to the SW further down the slope. Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 8 December 2021
