Internal diam. 24m N-S, 28m E-W Cloghaunbaun/An Clochán Bán: This roughly circular caher is located on the NW slopes of Caunoge in a boggy area drained by tributaries of the Ferta river. The site is very overgrown and its enclosing wall is quite denuded. A hut occurs in the interior amidst a considerable amount of collapse. The site's enclosing wall, faced on both sides with a rubble core, survives four courses high on average. It measures .9m high externally, .6m high internally and is 2.2m wide. No entrance could be discerned through the collapse and dense vegetation. The hut (KE080-007001-) measures 2.6m x 1.2m internally, and is subrectangular in plan. Externally it is subcircular in outline. Its wall averages 1.1m thick, and is carefully constructed of horizontal courses of thin slabs; it survives to an internal height of 1.25m. The entrance, 1m wide, is located at NE. A large amount of collapse covers its interior. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
